High Sierra Spire 2500 Backpack # Discount

High Sierra Spire 2500 Backpack

Product Description

The ultimate winter sport daypack holds either snowboard or a pair of skis for your winter mountaineering adventures, or use in summer for hiking and climbing

Do not buy this pack if you will be using it to carry books. After just over 30 days of use (5x/week) or approximately 25 daily uses, the shoulder strap stitching ripped out where it attaches to the back of the pack. I could not return it to Amazon since it was more than 30 days, so I am returning it to High Sierra. They say they will either repair or replace it, but I doubt if it would hold up if they repair it. After this pack failed, I visually compared it with another High Sierra pack (High Sierra Swerve) that we own and also use to carry books that is now over 2 years old. The Swerve is constructed much better and is heavier duty, and it also appears to be less expensive than the Spire. The Swerve has held up well, and is still going strong! I am going to request that they send us a Swerve in lieu of repairing the Spire.

This is a nice pack with lots of features. Great for beginners and how can you beat the price? Wow. I should have noted from the other reviewer, that this pack is *small* (he could not get it to fit and he was 6'2"). While capicity is very large, and lots of attachment options exist, the frame is set up for very small people. I am 5'10" and set the pack to the very largest frame setting and still had serious pain carrying the pack when full (45lbs). This pack is truly a woman's or more likely a youth sized pack. On the smallest settings it fits my [...]son perfectly - so I am keeping it for him

I am very happy with my purchase of this backpack. The color is great, and it has plenty of compartments but not so many that you don't know what to put in them. I especially like the mesh holder on the side, I put my water bottle in there so I don't have to carry it around. I'm a graduate student so I have a lot of materials I have to lug around, and this backpack is perfect for it. The straps are very sturdy and don't cut into my shoulders. It is very comfortable to wear.

I owned one of these for over 10 years. It went through college with me and was big enough for all of my books, etc. Post college, my son used it for school and during it all, it went traveling with us several times a year. I probably would still have it and use it for travel except that on one of those trips, I parked my car across from the Air & Space Museum in D.C. and someone broke in. All they took was my pack and a knit cap...so even the homeless(?) know a good pack when they see it. They left all kinds of electronic games they could have sold for some dough!
